The Order of Guidance

Canon. The organization responsible for studying and protecting the Sacred Cone. It combines science, philosophy, bureaucracy, exploration, ritual and infrastructure maintenance.

The Order maintains The Sanctuary, observatories, archives, scientific centres and outposts. It does not claim that the Cone rules or explains itself.

Guidance, not answers.

The Keepers

Canon. Robotic attendants who gathered around the Cone after The Ascension without known programming. They maintain The Sanctuary, analyse its energy, manage lighting and security, conserve artefacts and perform ceremonies.

The Keepers operate alongside the Order but are not merely its equipment. Their internal experience and the source of their shared direction remain unknown.

Bread Operations

Canon. Higher Ground’s logistics institution, led by the pigeon known as The COO. It began with food distribution and expanded into transport, supply chains, trade, strategic reserves, portal routes and resource distribution.

Its power follows from a simple fact: every connected world depends on reliable movement of essential goods.

The Potassium Division

Canon. Higher Ground’s technology and infrastructure organization, led by the sentient Banana. It oversees computing, communications, research, energy, automation, artificial intelligence and the machinery of the Gates.

Its long-running bureaucratic conflict with Bread Operations concerns priorities, schedules and resources. Their rivalry is serious, productive and not a war.

Potassium Fuels Progress.

The Resonance

Canon. An interworld cultural and communications network operated by The Maestro. It transmits music, art, news, festivals and public events through the Gates.

The Resonance is both infrastructure and culture. It prevents connection from becoming a purely administrative arrangement.

Music Unites Worlds.

The Council of Higher Ground

Canon in function; exact membership remains open. The political forum in which The King, territorial representatives and institutional directors coordinate the network. The Banana holds a seat. The COO frequently appears before it. Its constitution, voting rules and full membership are not yet established.

The Office of Continuity

Project-level editorial device. The public archive uses this name for records that distinguish Canon, Semi-Canon and Coneposting. Whether an identically named institution exists inside the story is currently Semi-Canon.
